Maya Yanchuck earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in an accelerated two-and-a-half years and is working towards conducting doctoral research. She is particularly interested in advancing research in mental health, neuroscience, and hormonal disorders through a biopsychosocial lens. Her academic experience includes study abroad in Spain and Morocco, which contributed to her interest in culturally informed health and psychological research. She has conducted empirical research for coursework on student housing satisfaction involving survey design, data analysis, manuscript reporting, and presentation of findings. Her meta-analytic research includes a capstone project on the epigenetic mechanisms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and their relationship to physical and mental health, an assessment of the long-term impacts of anorexia nervosa on pregnant mothers and their babies, treating food aversions, as well as overviewing Baumeister’s ego depletion model in women with PCOS. As a clinical research intern at ENCORE Research Group, she currently supports clinical trial operations through laboratory sample processing, FibroScan procedures, creating source documentation, assisting in study visits, and attending an investigator meeting. She consistently seeks opportunities to expand her skills and contribute to her team.
